Val de Loire was somtetime on the Saint-Malo / Portsmouth route from 2002 to 2005 for a trip of 8h45.
She could embark 2140 passengers and 580 vehicles.
Build in 1987 as Nils Olgerson by A.G. Weser Seebeckwerft shipyard at Bremerhaven, she began for TT-Line on the Travemünde-Trelleborg route. She has three sisterships: Peter Pan (3), Olau Britannia (2) and Olau Hollandia (2).
Brittany Ferries bought her in 1993 and she became Val de Loire after a complete rebuild in La Spieza. She took at this time Plymouth-Santander and Plymouth-Roscoff routes.
From 2002 to 2005, she came to replace ferry Bretagne, in winter on Saint-Malo Portsmouth route.
Sold in 2006 to the Danish group DFDS Seaways, she became King of Scandinavia on Newcastle - IJmuiden route. At Brittany Ferries, she is replaced on Santender route by a new vessel: Pont-Aven.
In 2011, she becames King Seaways.
